The Spider Base Scanner Antenna is a complete base station antenna kit made specifically for use in the home. The antenna is designed to receive scanner signals between 30MHz and 1200MHz. This scanner antenna includes a complete mounting kit for mast-mounting and 50' of RG62 coax with BNC connector. Just as good as the 20+ year old Radio Shack ground plane it replaced. Elements held in place by washer and insulator seems better than old screw in ones.
I assembled and disassembled this antenna three times checked everything for polarity to make sure everything was as supposed to be in the antenna does not hardly a set of old TV rabbit ears I believe would work as well or better
Got this antenna on top of a 20ft pole off the patio deck. Close to 30ft above ground. Have been picking up more stations than the mag mount that was on patio roof. The built in 50ft coax was just right for routing all the way to the receiver. Very pleased!
This base antenna is exactly what I wanted for my SDS100. A huge thank you to Paul for answering my numerous questions via chat and Email. You may have received this adapter included with your SDS100. If I did, I can't find it. But you absolutely need one due to the raised lip around the connection.
