A Bright(er) Future
I’m satisfied with my SDS200, mainly because it’s the best. Reason I didn’t pay for programming was that this a rural area not like Baltimore; $50. for one county in KY, and $25 for each additional county is out of the question, $714. for the scanner was as far as I could go. I’ve downloaded Sentinel and have done some programming so far with not a lot of radio traffic out of Washington, Nelson, Marion, Taylor and Boyle Counties. I haven’t given up yet. I started scanner listening back in the early’70s close to Pittsburgh and Beaver, my home country where there are fifty four fire departments, the state line passed through my property so there was not much quiet time.
I have faith I will eventually find something here in Kentucky that is worth listening to.
Im so glad that I bought my scanner from Bearcat Warehouse. I had 7 counties programmed into it and I also bought the GPS and a car antenna. I plan to use it when we travel around and out of the state. It's quite complex and I'm still learning things about it but until I figure everything out it's awesome to just turn it on and listen. Paul is such a great help and he's very patient and more than willing to answer my questions. Again, you just can't get this kind of service buying elsewhere. I know that something I don't understand is only an email or phone call away. This is a top of the line scanner and it does have a learning curve to take advantage of all it's features so read your manual. I love it and if your serious about scanning this is what you want.
this scanner works great, just likes the first one I bought. the only problem I had is when I turned on the priority, it kept saying NO CHANNEL. I tried several different times, with no luck. I paid for this to be programmed in, and I guess it wasn't. I watched some of your films on the SDS200, and I went in and program the priority channel myself. but yet I paid for it to be done.
The scanner is a good one! Found out most of what I had put on the cards ended up being encrypted! Get very little on the scanner!
